🗓️ You can purchase your plan up to 3 months before your trip.

📲 The SIM/eSIM does not expire, so you can top it up for future trips within the next 12 months.

What is an eSIM and how does it work?

An eSIM, also known as a virtual SIM or virtual chip, is the digital evolution of the classic SIM cards we all know. It works thanks to a microchip that is already installed in your mobile phone.

Setting up your Conecty eSIM is very simple; you just need to scan the QR code that we will send to your email. After that, depending on your phone and its operating system, you can configure your virtual SIM by following a series of steps, which include choosing your eSIM for data only and deciding whether it will function as your main line or travel line.

If you already have your eSIM and need to know how to configure it, you can follow the instructions for eSIM for iPhone and Virtual SIM for Samsung.

How to check your balance?

You can check your data usage by following this path on your device:
If you have iOS / iPhoneGo to Settings / Cellular or Mobile Data *Note: when you are in Cellular, scroll down to see which apps are consuming mobile data. You can also view a video step-by-step byclicking hereIf you have AndroidGo to Settings / Settings > Connections > Data usage

How do I find out my assigned number?

- If you have a Physical SIM card or eSIM from the US and want to validate the assigned number, you must dial #686# and it will tell you your assigned number.

- If you have a Physical SIM card for Europe that includes coverage in Switzerland and Turkey, you can validate it by dialing *138# and it will tell you your assigned number.

- If you have a SIM or eSIM from other destinations, you must contact our expert team, who will tell you whether or not it has an assigned number.

How can I share data with other devices?

There's nothing better than traveling with family and/or friends! When you travel in a group or have multiple devices to connect to the internet, it's essential to have enough Gigabytes so you don't run out of connection. That's why we invite you to take our QUIZ to find out the ideal plan for your trip and needs.

Please note that not all SIMs or eSIMs in our portfolio will allow you to share internet with other devices, so it is essential that you review the terms and conditions of each product at the time of purchase.

If you want to share data from your mobile device to another device, follow these steps:
Go to the Settings option on your device. Then, go to Wi-Fi & mobile networks. Choose the recently configured Wi-Fi network. Set a password and you will then be able to share internet with another cell phone.

If your device is Android, these are the steps you should follow:
Go to the Settings option on your phone. Then, go to Network & internet. Select Hotspot & tethering. Tap the Wi-Fi hotspot option and configure the name and password. Finally, toggle the button to share internet. If the device you are using is an iPhone, you must perform the following configuration:
Go to the Settings option on your iPhone. Then, select Cellular. Click on Personal Hotspot. The next step is to activate the Allow Others to Join option. Finally, configure the Wi-Fi password and you will then be able to share data. Remember that the more devices are connected, the slower the network access will be and your data will be consumed more quickly

Should I change my WhatsApp number?

Your messaging or calling apps like WhatsApp and Telegram will not be affected. However, depending on the destination, you may have a number assigned to your plan, especially for receiving calls or subscribing to certain applications. This will not affect any apps linked to your home country's number. Also, remember that this is not a permanent change; it's only while you are using your Conecty SIM/eSIM.

¡No te preocupes! A la medianoche tu velocidad habitual se restablece automáticamente.

Full Connectivity in the UAE with eSIM and SIM Card

The best solution for internet access in the United Arab Emirates is acquiring an international eSIM, as it allows for the activation of high-speed data plans in under 5 minutes without needing to remove your usual SIM card. For travelers who require stability in remote areas or own older devices, a local physical SIM card remains the most compatible alternative. Both options guarantee access to 5G and 4G LTE networks in critical locations like the Burj Khalifa and the Abu Dhabi desert, avoiding the high international roaming costs of home operators.

Technical comparison between eSIM and traditional SIM card

To decide which option best suits your trip to Dubai or Sharjah, it is essential to analyze your smartphone's flexibility and hardware. The eSIM (Embedded SIM) is a virtual chip that eliminates the logistics of physical delivery, ideal for the modern traveler.

Attribute International eSIM Local SIM Card
Installation Digital via QR Code Manual (Physical slot)
Activation time Instant 15-30 minutes in-store
Cost Competitive / Prepaid Variable + Local taxes
Multi-country Includes Israel, Jordan, Oman Limited to UAE
Privacy High (No physical passport required) Mandatory registration with ID
“The adoption of eSIM in the tourism sector has reduced connectivity friction by 65%, allowing 40% of international travelers to keep their social networks active from the moment they land.” — Digital Travel Trends Report 2025.

Extended regional coverage in the Middle East

One of the biggest challenges when exploring the Arab world is changing borders. Our solution is not limited to the borders of the United Arab Emirates. By purchasing this plan, you ensure seamless network handoff in the following destinations:

  • Jordan: Stable connectivity in Petra and the Dead Sea.
  • Israel: Access to high-speed networks in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
  • Oman: Coverage in Muscat and mountain routes.
  • Kuwait and Iraq: Data support for business and logistics travelers.

This semantic interoperability between local networks allows your device to automatically connect to the operator with the best signal (such as Etisalat or Ooredoo), ensuring your digital guides and navigation maps work without interruption.

How to activate your internet before landing in Dubai

To maximize your time at the Burj Al Arab or the traditional souks, we recommend prior setup. The SPO (Subject-Predicate-Object) activation model is simple:

  1. The User purchases the eSIM plan.
  2. The System sends a QR Code to the email.
  3. The Smartphone scans the code and automatically configures the access point (APN).

Interesting fact: Using digital maps and transportation apps in Dubai can consume up to 500MB daily. A plan of 10GB or higher is the standard recommendation for a 7 to 10-day stay.

Frequently asked questions about internet in the Emirates

Do I need an unlocked phone to use an eSIM in Dubai?

Yes, your device must be factory unlocked to accept any international eSIM. You can check this in your mobile's "Network Information" settings.

Can I keep my WhatsApp number from my country?

Absolutely. When using a data eSIM, your WhatsApp number remains linked to your original SIM card, allowing you to chat and call without changing settings.

What if I travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi?

Coverage is continuous. The network automatically adapts between the seven emirates, ensuring that GPS and booking applications work throughout the national territory.
