Being without internet during your international trip is a non-negotiable ! We understand! And to answer all your questions before you buy an international SIM , we've compiled frequently asked questions from over 250,000 travelers who have already used it. Our SIMS CONNECTY have been around for 9 years, and we're sure they'll be of great help to you.
What is the difference between a SIM card and an eSIM?
A SIM card is a physical card we use in our mobile devices to access data and call networks; it's the classic card we all know. On the other hand, an eSIM is a chip embedded directly in the mobile device that is activated by scanning a QR code, without needing a physical card.
The eSIM offers greater convenience by eliminating the need to swap physical SIM cards. You can buy it instantly from anywhere in the world, and it allows you to have different carrier profiles on a single device. However, it is only compatible with the latest generation of devices.

Which option is more convenient depending on my device and my type of trip?
The first thing to consider is your device model . The eSIM is only compatible with the latest models (see the list in the previous question). It's also ideal if you're already at your destination or can't wait for the SIM card to be delivered to your home or office. The physical SIM card works with almost all models, and its installation process is simpler than that of the eSIM.
To choose the best plan, whether unlimited by the day or plans based on GB , the most important thing is to understand your data usage. Keep in mind that the average person uses between 1GB and 1.5GB per day (this average includes the use of social media, messaging, and streaming apps).
The type of destination is also an important factor. There are places in the world where you're constantly using your data, whether it's checking maps or Waze, reading reviews on TripAdvisor, researching the best places to visit, or sharing all the details with family and friends in real time through social media or messaging services. This usage determines your data consumption and will give you the best guidance for choosing your plan.
If you still have doubts, you can ask us. QUIZ or you can write to us for personalized advice.

Can I keep my current phone number and/or my WhatsApp/Telegram account when using your SIM or eSIM?
Yes, you can keep the same number. Your messaging or calling apps like WhatsApp and Telegram won't be affected; however, depending on your destination, you may have a number assigned to your plan, especially for receiving calls or subscribing to certain apps.
This will not affect any of the applications that are linked to your home country number; also, remember that this is not a permanent change, it is only while you are using your Connecty SIM/eSIM.

What happens if I run out of data before my trip is over?
If you run out of data before your trip ends, several of our plans offer options to manage top-ups and maintain your connectivity. However, it's important to check beforehand whether it's possible to top up your SIM or eSIM for your destination.
What network coverage do their international SIMs offer?
Our international SIMs/eSIMs offer network coverage through the major mobile operators in each country. This means we use local infrastructure and networks to provide you with reliable, fast, and top-tier connectivity. It's important to note that 4G or 5G network availability will depend on the local operator's infrastructure and mobile technology in your destination country, and whether your device is compatible (generally, the latest generation devices that are eSIM-compatible will work on these networks).
Are both SIM options for internet only or do they also include calls?
Our eSIM and SIM options can include both internet and calling services, though this may vary depending on the destination and the specific plan you choose. Some of our plans offer a combination of data and minutes, allowing you to enjoy internet connectivity and make local and international calls. We recommend reviewing the specific details of each plan and destination to ensure you know which services are included. Our team will be happy to provide you with detailed information about the available options and help you select the one that best suits your connectivity needs.
