Is it better to activate roaming with my current operator than to buy an international prepaid SIM/eSIM?

Todo depende del plan postpago que tengas con tu operador actual, para viajes de 1, 2 ó 3 días puede ser funcional para viajes más largos no hay duda alguna que las SIM o eSIM son la mejor opción, sin embargo queremos que tengas claros los siguientes puntos para que seas un usuario informado antes de tomar una decisión:
1. Nuestras SIM o eSIM prepago te ofrecen velocidades de navegación superiores a las que ofrece cualquier operador de Roaming. Con Conecty podrás navegar en 4G LTE ó 5G, esto permitirá que todas tus aplicaciones funcionen más rápido.
2. Para navegar en estas velocidades superiores también es necesario tener un buen respaldo de datos, en Conecty todos los planes son en GB o ilimitados, a diferencia del Roaming donde casi todos los planes son expresados en MB (menor unidad de medida que las GB), además ofrecen capacidades para aplicaciones de bajo consumo. Esto quiere decir que en pocas horas te puedes consumir tú límite de datos diario o peor aún si es bajo demanda tendrás que enfrentarte a altos cargos por tu consumo.

What data plans and rates are available?

Each destination has different pricing options, which may be expressed in GB or unlimited per day. Pricing may also vary depending on the technology your mobile device supports (SIM or eSIM). Therefore, we recommend browsing our main menu under "Shop by Country," where you can find our full range of plans in over 190 destinations worldwide, or "Shop by Technology," where you can find available countries based on your chosen technology. In either menu, you'll find all the necessary information about each plan, including pricing, coverage, data allowance, and validity period.

¿Este servicio funciona en cruceros?

The initial answer would be no, because mobile operators use GSM antennas located on land. However, some cruise ships sailing near the shore may have coverage as they can connect to the antennas' signal, so you would have a signal in ports.

¿Este servicio funciona en aviones?

No, you lose the connection to the GSM antennas used by mobile operators on airplanes. Some airlines offer internet service during flights. You can check with the airline you choose for your next destination.

What information or documents should they ask me for at the time of purchase?

How long does it take to receive the SIM or eSIM after making the purchase?

Express delivery: You can receive your SIM the same day in Medellín and Bogotá if you make your purchase before 3:00 pm
Nextday deliveries: you can receive your SIM the next day for orders placed before 5:30 pm in Medellín, Bogotá, Barranquilla and Cali. For the rest of the country, shipping time is 2 to 4 business days.
eSIM
You will receive the email with the QR code within approximately 30 minutes to 3 hours. This applies between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Monday through Sunday (we are still working to automate this process so you can receive it in minutes).
